A Mantrailing Akadémia Alapítvány idén ismét megszervezte hazánkban az International Bloodhound Training Institute (INBTI) 3 napos nemzetközi szemináriumát Budapesten. A tavalyi évhez hasonlóan, ezúttal is több, nagy tapasztalattal rendelkező külföldi instruktor fogadta el meghívásunkat, akik főként a rendőrség keretein belül dolgoznak kutyáikkal, s aktívan alkalmazzák a Kocher módszert a mantrailinges kutyák kiképzésében és a bevetéseken. Nagy örömünkre szolgált, hogy immáron személyesen is vendégül láthattuk a tavaly őszi országos szemináriumon online előadást tartó, Michael Szelc-t, az INBTI alelnökét, aki az Amerikai Egyesült Államokból érkezett hozzánk. A szemináriumon instruktorként vett részt továbbá Chris Boyd és Theresa Szelc az USA-ból, Lyubov Koshevaya és Andrey Mamaenko Oroszországból, Bernhard Stummer Ausztriából, Sergey Marynchuk Ukrajnából, Jurij Aleksandrov Litvániából, valamint asszisztens instruktorként Tatiana Marynchuk Ukrajnából.
INBTI Instruktorok és Aszisztens Instruktorok
A szeminárium első napja a külföldi instruktorok köszöntésével, majd bemutatásával vette kezdetét. Ezt követte Chris Boyd előadása, amelyben a különböző kiképzési módszerekről szerzett tapasztalatairól és a Kocher módszeren alapuló mantrailing hatékonyságáról, eredményességéről beszélt. Lejátszott egy videót is, amelyben egy 2014-ben megtörtént esetet rekonstruáltak; bemutatva, hogyan jutott el sikeresen a bankrablással gyanúsított személy lakásáig egy madison-i rendőr és K9-es partnere Boris. Bernhard Stummer előadásában alapvetően a mantrailing gyakorlati alkalmazása, illetve a valós helyzetek során szerzett tapasztalatait osztotta meg a jelenlévőkkel. Az esetek szemléltetése során különböző érdekes és tanulságos szituációkra hívta fel a figyelmet, rámutatva arra, hogy az információgyűjtés kulcsfontosságú, ami nagymértékben tudja segíteni a kutya és így a kereső csapatok munkáját.
Az előadásokat követően vette kezdetét a gyakorlati tréning. A hétvége hátralévő részében a résztvevők a külföldi instruktorok irányításával változatos helyszíneken, ingerekben gazdag, forgalmas városi és családi házas, külterületi terepeken dolgozhattak kutyáikkal. A gyakorlatok során az instruktorok nagy hangsúlyt fektettek a valós esetekkor előforduló jellegzetes szituációk bemutatására, gyakorlására, mint például a szennyezett szagmintáról való indítás, a nyomvég jelzése, vagy az autóülésről való szagfelvétel. Emellett a kutyák és gazdáik tudásukhoz mért feladatokat is kaptak, amely során lehetőség adódott egy-egy régebb óta fennálló probléma megvitatására az instruktorokkal, akik igyekeztek segíteni a megoldásban és a jövőre vonatkozó képzési tanácsokkal is ellátták a gazdákat.
A szeminárium záróünnepségén az instruktorok röviden beszámoltak a hétvégén szerzett tapasztalataikról, majd a résztvevőkkel közösen felidézték a néhai Kevin John Kocher emlékét. Ezt követően Gránicz Csaba, a Mantrailing Akadémia elnöke, az instruktorok közreműködésével személyesen adta át az INBTI oklevelét a résztvevőknek.

Mantrailing Akadémia Alapítvány (Mantrailing Academy Foundation) organized its annual 3-days International Bloodhound Training Institute (INBTI) mantrailing seminar in Hungary, Budapest. Just like last year, numerous experienced instructors accepted our invitation this time as well. The instructors apply the Kocher method actively both in training mantrailing dogs and in real cases, most of them do it as part of their police work. We were very pleased to welcome the vice president of INBTI Michael Szelc from the USA, who also joined us in an online video conference at our last country seminar earlier this year. The other instructors of the seminar were Chris Boyd and Theresa Szelc (USA), Lyubov Koshevaya and Andrey Mamaenko (Russia), Bernhard Stummer (Austria), Sergey Marynchuk (Ukraine), Jurij Aleksandrov (Lithuania), and assistant instructor Tatiana Marynchuk (Ukraine).

The seminar started with the introduction of the instructors, followed by the presentation of Chris Boyd about her experience made with different training methods and the efficiency – successful search results – of mantrailing based on the Kocher method. She showed a (reconstructed) video record about a 2014 bank robbery case where the K9 handler police officer showed how he and his K9 Boris trailed the suspect from the bank to his apartment in Madison, Wisconsin, USA. Bernhard Stummer explained in his presentation the practical use of mantrailing and shared some of his key experiences gathered during real cases. He pointed out several interesting situations showing how important gathering information with mantrailing is, and that it can make a huge contribution to the successful work of searching teams.
After the presentation the practical training started. During the weekend participants hat the opportunity to work with their dogs in different location, distraction rich city areas with heavy traffic and in residential areas, parks as well, guided by the international INBTI instructors. In the training instructors put heavy emphasis on typical situations of real cases, just like starting the K9 from contaminated scent articles, no-scent ID, starting the K9 from a car seat and so on. By laying the trails and including different components the knowledge level of the participants and their dogs were taken into consideration, there has been also opportunity to discuss individual difficulties with the instructors. The instructors tried to help the teams to solve the individual problems with tips and future training advices.
At the closing ceremony of the seminar the instructors shared their experiences made during the weekend and paid homage together to the late Kevin John Kocher. At the end Csaba Gránicz, the president of the Mantrailing Academy Foundation and the instructors handed over the INBTI Certificates of attendance to the participants.
